I landed with a similar army, line infantry mostly, about 10 units. On my second island assault, the terrain was similar, though no fences. They fired a few volleys into the pirates, then fell apart when the melee combat tore onto their lines. My army consisted almost entirely of line infantry and militia infantry. Big formations of sword wielding pirates. On my first assault against a pirate island, they came at me with a lot of melee troops. The troops have to climb over them to move around.
